Reasons

I think I know the reason I love blogging and reading other blogs. As I check the updated blogs, I notice that SOOOOOO many of them relate to my own life. Many of these blogging people I don't even know, but I know someone that they know or are related to. I truly enjoy reading all of them. I just checked the updates, I read things like... have a 5 inch stack of papers to grade and record on my desk, that's me... born in a barn, my dad invented that... when my first born was almost 15 months... now she is almost 8... bittersweet, hitting the snooze three times each morning... I am the queen at snooze, evenings end with tears... are you at my house? I know I hardly ever leave a comment, but I love all the updates and I love knowing others are in my boat!

Homefront!

Over the last few days we have had another snowstorm, which means we are home from school... again! Which in turn means we have had some quality family time... a tough game of garbage, braiding the girls' hair before bed so it would be curly when they woke up, Internet surfing for who knows what, 3 episodes of Little House on the Prairie, french toast and breakfast burritos and some Olympics. BL borrowed the neighbors snowmobile today and took the girls on a few rides. Out of boredom and the need for fresh air, I ventured out and curried our four-legged friends with tails and manes. Yesterday we cleaned and finished the laundry... half way though today the are no remaining signs of a clean house, we now have cardboard box castles in the living room and the laundry is back!

Coyote Hunt

These are some pictures from the "Great Coyote Hunt" held over the weekend. Thanks to my Marathon "kidsitting" mother, I was able to enjoy my once loved sport again. In the top picture the dogs had put the coyote in a hollow log. Sorry the pictures are a little fuzzy, my phone is not a great digital camera. The hunters were discussing how to get the coyote out. Dogs caught the coyote... 50 points!
This picture is of BL, the big brown blur, and his 3 dogs, Molly, Maggie, and the almost retired Cindy... this could be her last hunt and fight. The dogs were fighting the coyote on the run and put it under some brush until a monster boot helped out... dogs caught the coyote... 50 points! The thrill of the chase is my favorite part, good dogs are amazing! I must admit, I think the kill is a little scary! BL's team turned in 14 or 15 in the 2 day hunt... but didn't hold a candle to his brother-in-laws, I think they just got lucky! Sunday we made a family event of it, the girls got a little bored, but were way excited when they watched a coyote run down the ditch toward BL on his knee watching though his scope... 0 points... better luck next time!

My Valentine!

My Valentine...

the father of the my beautiful girls,

the man who will gather the eggs,

the man who drive me home,

the man who has always treated me like a queen,

the man who handles everything in the morning shuffle,

the man who makes sure there is money in my checking account,

the man brings me cold ones and a rose... and chocolate,

the man who will change the laundry,

the man who loves coyote hunting,

the man that checks the heifer every night,

the man who answers my every call,

the man who sleeps in the IH camper,

the man who keeps me centered,

the man who picks up baby goats goats in the middle of a man hunt,

the man who my parents were not sure I should date,

the man that we all respect,

the love of my life for nearly 18 years!

Happy Valentine's Day BL!

Divas from the Ditch

The name hit me like a ton of bricks, the light bulb sparked and exploded!
This evening while I was getting the girls from the tub,
I thought of a name for our spectacular, vintage campers...
instead of Sisters on the Fly...
Divas from the Ditch!
Well ladies, let me know what you think, do you want to be a Ditch Diva?

Creative Project #2

Here is project #2, you see my mother's blood runs in my veins, and if this doesn't look like somethings she has done, I don't know what does! I patched the girls' jeans with fun fabric. At 5 and 7, they still think their mom rocks, so the patches were a hit. How long will it last... the patches? or them thinking their mom rocks? I am afraid neither will last long.
