This week I am going to blog about the "creative" projects I have been working on over the past week. My remote holder is the first. Blake's chair sits by the window, so there is no room for a table... so I made a remote holder from an old pair of jeans. Now he knows where the remotes are at all times!
Where the sun rises from the east, smiles are plentiful, and we share laughter and love.

Homemade gifts
A few years ago my crazy, clever, organized, crafty, sewing sister decides that we (my siblings, their spouses and I) should make homemade gifts for each other for Christmas. Of course, this was a challenge, so we all jumped on board. Competitiveness is a strong gene of ours. I must admit we have made some pretty crafty objects, and some really corny one also... no pun intended, Lindsay... the corn neck warmers. This past Christmas my brother made benches from oak boards. Over one of my many breaks the past month, I decided to finish my bench and replace the two old chairs at my kitchen table with the new bench. Wallah! Here it is, the 3 B and L brand makes this bench one of a kind and looks awesome at our $50 farmsale, handmade table! Before my many long hours of sanding and varnishing... I have no patients...
we moved it upstairs, I think the varnish was dry...

after Blake added his touch... absolutely perfect!

Gotta Pee
My niece is potty training and doing a great job! Sunday when we came up from Children's Church downstairs, she loudly announced, "MOM, I GOTTA PEE!" I thought I might be the one to wet my pants. Thankfully, our church is very relaxed and no one cares about these announcements, or maybe there was so much commotion in our pew that not everyone heard the announcement. Either way, Culee had us in stitches!

Music Video
As most of you know, our winter this year has been very giving of "snow days." Here at the Lough Ranch, let me translate, no school, doing laundry, watching CMT videos, scrapbooking, watching CMT videos, cleaning (a little), and watching CMT videos. I recently watched my new favorite video... here is the link. Let me know what you think!

If calves could talk...
"I was the first born calf here on the Lough Ranch a few days ago in a snow drift, I was as cold as a Popsicle. I road to the barn in the strong arms of a nice man on the bale bed of a truck.

Twins
As I was casually walking down the hall at school, a lady clutches my arm, tells me she is early and wonders if she can help me do anything. I am thinking to myself... help at school... sure... Monday... is this a gift or what? I answered, with a puzzled sure. Then it dawned on me what was going on, she thought I was Mrs. Bish and she was her afternoon volunteer. I introduced myself, and she was embarrassed and confused, then strolled on up the hall to the Kindergarten end. Do we really look that much alike? ... she is so blessed! HA HA!
MLK
I have a dream...
that one day I will retire,
that one day the ranch will be paid off,
that one day all little children will listen to their teachers
that one day we will do more recycling,
and that one day it will be spring!

Rockstar
No, Brett is not a rock star, but she has make the front page of the local paper twice in one months time (purely by accident). Here is a link, she is the one in the blue coat playing in the snow. http://www.bdemo.com/

Food for Thought
On the way home for dance last night, it was snowing, I was frustrated with other drivers sliding around the town streets and stop signs. I felt much more at ease when I reached the secluded gravel road and Bri told me last night there was 100 cents of snow... she meant 100 % chance of snow. Ha Ha! With BL not working in the extremely cold temperatures, I called him yesterday, he was at home watching something on the new Dish TV (still loving it) so I asked him to change the laundry, he did, three cheers for BL... and he put supper in the crockpot earlier this week, three more cheers, "we" love his job!

Snow
Before the temperature dropped to around 0 degrees this week, we enjoyed the snow and sledding with some friends. Ralph, the cowboy snowman, is not melting anytime soon with the high today of 3 degrees. Brett and I made a snow fort while Blake was choring, then we ambushed him as he headed toward the house. We have had our fun in the snow and now we are ready for spring, to try out our new Christmas tack!
